Mama's Little Angel!

This is definitely one of my favorite pictures of Devin. I know that I am his mom, but I just think that he is so handsome!! This was taken at Paradise Point Episcopal Church Camp in McCall, Idaho. This was Devin's (and mine) last year for beginners camp. Next year he will go solo! Hope I can deal with that!!
The water was only 57 degrees this day. I think that the kids are crazy for getting in, but they do every year. The thing that really amazes me, is that they never seem to get sick either!

I miss you Sissy!

Hey sis............

Mom and I had fun hanging out at the Fiddle Festival today! We ate lunch there and had HUGE ice cream cones. We even had pizza for dinner and watched some performances. We even got you some presents, and Mammy too! So very sorry you had to hang out at the dentist's office with Mam! HA HA HA!!! But I do love you and miss you and am very excited that mom and I are going to camp tomorrow. Give Boopie loves for me. Take care of your little mascot!

Going Mexican!

We went to this GREAT Mexican food resturant with Grandma in New Mexico. The kids and I thought the place was really neat. I was really good about writing down the names of the tree-things in front of the building. I also wrote down the name of all the peppers hanging up and the name of the resturant. Of course I can't find where I wrote them down at, that is just so like me! The only thing that I can remember is that the tree-things are New Mexico's stat plant (and I am too lazy to look it up!). Despite my bad memory , I do know that the food and the company were most enjoyable!

WARNING!!! Don't drink milk while viewing these pictures!

......that there cat is gonna get skinned (shaved)......

Tomorrow morning we take Sally, our fluffy kitty to the vet, bright and early. She is going to get all of her long hair shaved off! We do it because it is just too hot for her during the summer here. She also gets sticker burrs and sheet grass stuck in her fur that we can't get out and they dig their way into her skin. She is quite the prowling traveler of the field behind our house.
We love her so much, but laugh pretty hard for about a week after she is shaved. She is the source of amusement for the neighborhood for a couple of weeks too!! I truly believe that she is extremely embarrassed for the first few days. She certainly acts like it.
I am still working on posting pics from our trip to New Mexico, as well as having been sick for a few days after getting back, the ENDLESS pile of laundry, and getting ready to go to church camp with Devin.
I will definitely get a before and after picture of the cat on here as soon as I can.

Hanging out with family in New Mexico

We had tons of fun hanging out with Uncle Brian, Aunt Senica, and Cousin Elija. It was nice to be able see everyone. It was our first time to see Eli and Kris and Devin wanted to attend to his every need! I think that he was in some one's arms almost all of his waking hours while we were there!

Day or Night?

At 2:30 in the afternoon, we were fairly certain that Mr. Moon was a wee bit confused!

Amazing!

Pictures don't do this justice. These were the most beautiful clouds I have ever seen. It looked as if God had just layered them.

gas GOUGING

I kept track of gas prices on the way home too and was sickened by they prices we saw. I was able to keep a better record than when we drove down because we drove during the day on the way home. The lowest price for unleaded we saw was $3.87 (Hogback, NM). The highest was at $4.30 (Arriola, CO)! I was curious of the diesel prices after hearing that they were so much higher than unleaded, so I kept track of them also. The lowest was $4.65 (Hogback, NM) and the highest at $4.99!!! That was in Shiprock, NM (I think that is on the Navajo Reservation??) and also in Monticello, UT.
In my earlier post I was ranting about how we actually had to pay over $4.00 a gallon on our trip. Well.....low and behold.....when we got home, gas was at
$4.02 at the Maverick here in Weiser! The most expensive gas station in town had unleaded priced at $4.14!! I couldn't believe it. It did not do me good to have to pay attention to the gas prices almost everyday. I liked it much better when I only had to get gas every couple of weeks, or better yet, when Don would do it for me. I want to go back to being in a state of ignorance again!!

Garden of Eden

Here are the first pictures of our trip to New Mexico. These were taken in a gas station/truck stop called Garden of Eden. I think that the town's name was Eden, it was in Idaho. It is definitely the king of truck stops! Of course it was also one of the most expensive for gas too!! That snake was just above my head as I was taking pictures of the kids and it scared the living daylights out of me! The kids got a good laugh at the scream I let out!

ARM and a LEG

Driving down to New Mexico to visit Don's dad, step mom, brother, his wife, and their ADORABLE 10 month old son I kept track of gas prices.
A few years ago on some driving trip somewhere, (I can't remember where we were) we saw a dummy's arm and leg sticking out from behind a gas stations price board. It was very funny, but I think that it might be more appropriate for today's prices!
From Weiser, Idaho to Bloomfield, New Mexico it was 912 miles and it took us around 10 hours to drive! I have now been awake for 35 hours straight! My eyes burn and I am exhausted, but glad to be here.
$3.98 Weiser, Idaho
$3.96 Boise, Idaho
$4.25 Eden, Idaho
$4.09 Greenriver, Utah
$4.15 Moab, Utah
$4.17 Monticello, Colorado
$3.87 Cortez, New Mexico
$3.93 Shiprock, New Mexico
$3.91 Farmington, New Mexico
$3.91 Bloomfield, New Mexico
This is for unleaded gas. My brother in law said that diesel cost him $4.69 a gallon today!!! I am sure that there are much higher prices, but I couldn't believe that we actually paid over $4.00 for a gallon of gas! I will keep track on the way home and report back.
If anyone is out and about I would love to hear from you.

Battle of the Tounges!

Normally Brayden is the one who has his tongue sticking out, but Kristina's seemed to get away from her while holding Brayden! I thought it was really cute! I especially love the Farmer Brayden picture with the grass hanging out of his mouth.

Trying to help summer along

The kids and I decided that we needed to try to help summer along by going for ice cream today! Kristina's friend Mikayla went with us. We have already had some nice weather, almost down right HOT this spring. But the weather has been so weird since spring broke. Up to the nineties one day and then snowing the next! I kid you not. Now school is out and the summer sun still has yet to grace us with it's presence. It is acting like spring with the MANY rain storms and very windy too. So we decided that it wouldn't hurt to have a YUMMY lunch and eat ice cream in hopes that the summer sun would take notice!
We had lunch at THE BEST place in Weiser. Weiser Classic Candies. They have delicious sandwiches and soup, scrumptious ice creams, and hand made, to die for, candies. It is impossible to watch your waist line when you go in there! Check them out, I think that they even ship candies, but I am not sure. Their web site is http://www.weiserclassiccandy.com/. The service there is even hard to beat. I know that I sound like I am putting in a plug for them...I guess I am becuase I am always so impressed with everything when we go in there. Thanks guys!

FronT RooM CampinG

This is front room camping at our house. The kids set up their fort and then get to sleep in it! The first night they both started out in the fort, but Devin ended up in his bed because he said that Sissy wouldn't stop "bothering" him. So I let them give it another try last night.
Dev decided that he was going to sleep on the couch so he could have his own space. He actually fell asleep on the couch, after a lot of whispers and many giggles! Sometime in the middle of the night he got up for a drink and evidently forgot where he was sleeping and ended up in his bed! Needless to say, he was a bit confused when he woke up this morning!!
